April/May Member of the Month Congratulations to our member of the month, Melissa Livingstone! Melissa transferred to Rowan for public relations in the Fall of 2016, where – by her second semester – she found her place in PRSSA. This Spring, Melissa served as a valuable Spring Gala event team member on the PRSSA’s Special Events Committee. She aided the team in planning, organizing and executing PRSSA’s 40-year celebration. Melissa cherishes the relationships she’s built in PRSSA so far. “It’s nice to have a support system. All of our journeys are so different, but we’re learning so much from each other.” To come to Rowan, the lifelong cheerleader relinquished an opportunity to coach her high school’s cheerleading squad to fully commit time and effort to her education. Melissa hopes to continue expanding her networking next year in PRSSA, and will pursue a career in non-profit PR.

She states that as soon as she walked into her first meeting, she knew she joined the right club. “My favorite part about PRSSA is how welcoming everyone was when I joined this semester. I was always so nervous to come out, but the first day I showed up everyone was so excited to see me. I was upset I had not joined the previous semester. Everyone is so determined and passionate about PRSSA!” Throughout the semester, Nicole has regularly attended general meetings and shown her passion for public relations and the Society by getting more involved in committees and events.
